“If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need”  Macus Tullius Cicero

Born 1960 in Darmstadt Germany, Andreas grew up in a family of architects and builders with whom he spent the majority of his adolescence life on building or landscape construction sites. This was where he first developed a passion for the industry and came to understand the mechanics of construction and the importance of site supervision.

Before immigrating to Berkeley, California in 1992, Andreas completed his studies and training in Germany.  He holds an honorable Masters degree in landscape architecture with a city planning emphasis from the Technical University in Berlin, Germany where he completed his thesis on a master plan for the German government district, Reichstag.  He was one of four students chosen to represent the landscape architecture

department in an international design symposium working with notable U.S. architecture firms such as that of Frank Gehry.

As a staff designer for the landscape architecture firm of Professor Hans Loidel and Thomas Dietrich in Berlin, he participated in several design competitions for urban parks and city greenbelts strongly emphasizing ecological development criteria.

With the knowledge gained from an additional 3-year professional degree earned in horticulture and nursery management, he developed his own database of over 7,500 California plant species.  This experience continues to aid him in the creation of complex planting plans.

Further experience includes additional courses taken at UC-Berkeley Extension and the completion of 2 internships at the Landscape Architecture firm of Peter Walker and Martha Schwartz from 1989 to 1991.  Today Andreas draws added experience from consultation work with a diverse group of architecture and engineering firms, as well as builders and developers.
